We were very fortunate work with the Korman family when they expanded their signature AKA hotels brand from New York to Beverly Hills. The brand caters to celebrities, upscale consumers and affluent international travelers who have come to depend on the growing and visionary brand for a home away from home.
The design of the firm Koning Eizenberg, along with Asfour Guzy Architects, transformed an old apartment complex into a luxury, long term stay hotel with 88 fully furnished units ranging from 850 to 1810 square feet. We installed a twenty seat executive style screening room, a new second level terrace with extensive landscaping, and custom wood and marbles finishes throughout. The design also included a remodel of the elevators, and installation of large, backlit facade showcasing the hotel’s brand. However, our favorite aspect of the project was the redesign of the entryway of the complex, which features two vegetated walls with plantings to soften the threshold between interior and exterior and spaces.
We look forward to a continued relationship with the Korman family and are grateful to have them as clients as they expand into California.
